ABOUT THE WORK

Silver cross pendant with black porcelain. An expressive symbol placed into the form of a contemporary piece of jewelry.

History

The form of the cross in this piece is built from five black porcelain elements and a silver structure. The joining of the separate parts allows the cross to open up not as a flat sign, but as a volume with an inner structure, rhythm and space.

The combination of black porcelain and silver creates a striking contrast of materials: matte porcelain, open to touch, and light-reflecting metal act upon one another. The silver becomes not only the base of the pendant, but also the visible structure of the cross, revealing the way it is put together.

The piece draws on a recognizable form, yet does not illustrate it. Here the cross becomes a contemporary personal sign, whose meaning can differ for each person who wears it.

Handmade porcelain miniatures give every pendant a character of its own. The surface of the material, its texture and slight differences in form show that this is not a sterile, flawless object, but a piece in which the process of its making remains visible and tangible.

Combination ideas

This is a piece that can be worn as a stronger accent in an everyday look, or kept as an object with a meaning of its own. The silver and black porcelain structure works well next to a clean-lined silhouette, yet it can also be paired with more expressive clothing.

Occasion

This piece can become a gift for a man, when you wish to give meaning to a bond or to an important moment in life.

The cross can be given not only for a particular celebration. The choice may be prompted by a personal bond, a significant date, a new stage in life, or simply the wish to pass a meaningful sign on to another person. The meaning of this sign can also be given by the one who offers it.

JEWELRY CARE AND USE RECOMMENDATIONS Handmade jewelry is made from precious metals and porcelain. These materials are durable, but their surfaces can be affected by environmental factors, chemicals, and mechanical impact. Proper care helps preserve the aesthetics of the piece for longer.   DAILY USE It is recommended to remove jewelry before:
  • bathing in the shower, pool or sea
  • while exercising
  • while doing household chores
  • using cosmetics, perfume, or hairspray
Chlorine, salt, cosmetics and household chemicals can affect the metal surface and accelerate the oxidation of silver. Also, during active activities, the jewelry can experience mechanical shock.   Why does silver darken? Silver naturally reacts with sulfur compounds in the air and can oxidize over time, causing the surface to darken. This is a normal characteristic of the metal and is not considered a defect in the product. Silver oxidation can be accelerated by:
  • sweat
  • cosmetics and perfumes
  • household chemicals
  • chlorinated water
  • humid environment
Such reactions are natural chemical properties of silver.   How to clean jewelry For light cleaning, mild products are usually sufficient. Gentle cleaning
  1. Prepare warm water with a small amount of soap.
  2. Gently clean the jewelry with a soft cloth or soft brush.
  3. Rinse with clean water.
  4. Dry with a soft cloth.
You can also use special cleaning products for silver. napkins  Cleaning silver at home Silver jewelry can be cleaned with a small amount of regular toothpaste if special cleaning products are not available. It is important to follow a few rules:
  • the paste must be free of abrasive or bleaching particles
  • it should be applied to a soft cloth or paper towel
  • cleaning should be done with gentle movements
After cleaning, the jewelry should be rinsed with water and dried thoroughly. Abrasive pastes can scratch the silver surface, so their use is not recommended  What should be avoided? Jewelry can be damaged by:
  • abrasive cleaners
  • strong acids or alkalis
  • aggressive household cleaning products
  • strong mechanical shocks or pressure
Porcelain details Porcelain is a ceramic material fired at high temperatures, the structure of which becomes vitrified and very hard. Due to this structure, porcelain is characterized by high strength and durability. However, like glass or natural stone, it is not resistant to strong impacts - if subjected to strong mechanical impact, a porcelain piece may crack or shatter. Therefore, it is recommended to protect jewelry with porcelain elements from falling or impacts.   Jewelry storage It is recommended to store jewelry:
  • in a dry place
  • separately from each other
  • in a jewelry box or soft case
This avoids surface scratching and unnecessary oxidation effects.   Warranty conditions The warranty does not apply to damage caused by:
  • mechanical shocks or falls
  • misuse
  • exposure to aggressive chemicals
  • natural silver oxidation process
RETURN OF GOODS OF SUITABLE QUALITY Based on paragraph 17.12 of Resolution No. 697 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania of 11 June 2001 „On the Approval of the Rules of Retail Trade“ (pearls, precious stones, precious metals and articles thereof – codes according to the Combined Nomenclature 7101–7116, 7118): Jewelry of suitable quality may be exchanged or returned only with the seller's consent.
