JEWELRY CARE AND WEAR

Handmade jewelry is created from precious metals, porcelain and other carefully selected materials. These materials are durable, but their surfaces can be affected by environmental factors, chemicals and mechanical impact. Proper care helps preserve the appearance of the piece for longer.

EVERYDAY WEAR

It is recommended to remove jewelry before:

• showering, swimming in a pool or in the sea;
• exercising;
• doing household chores;
• applying cosmetics, perfume or hairspray.

Chlorine, salt, cosmetics and household chemicals can affect the metal surface and cause silver to tarnish. During physical activity, jewelry may also be exposed to mechanical impact.

WHY DOES SILVER TARNISH?

Silver naturally reacts with sulfur compounds in the environment. This reaction forms a layer of silver sulfide on the surface, which can gradually change the color of the silver. This is a natural property of the metal and is not considered a defect.

Tarnishing can be accelerated by:

• perspiration;
• cosmetics and perfume;
• household chemicals;
• chlorinated water;
• a humid environment.

HOW TO CLEAN JEWELRY

Mild products are usually enough for light cleaning. The cleaning method should be chosen with all the materials of the piece and its construction in mind.

Gentle cleaning

1. Prepare warm water with a small amount of mild soap.
2. If the materials and construction of the piece allow cleaning with water, gently wipe the jewelry with a soft cloth.
3. Carefully rinse with clean water.
4. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

Pieces with pearls, delicate stones or other details that require special care should not be soaked. Such jewelry is best cleaned with a soft, barely damp cloth and dried thoroughly.

Special silver polishing clothscan also be used to care for silver surfaces. Use them on the silver parts only, avoiding contact with pearls and other delicate materials.

WHAT TO AVOID

Jewelry can be damaged by:

• abrasive cleaners;
• strong acids or alkalis;
• harsh household cleaning products;
• strong mechanical impact or pressure.

PORCELAIN DETAILS

Porcelain is a ceramic material fired at a high temperature: during firing its structure sinters and a glassy phase forms. Thanks to this structure, porcelain is very hard, absorbs little water and is long-lasting.

However, like glass or natural stone, it does not withstand strong impacts: a porcelain detail subjected to a strong mechanical blow can crack or break. Jewelry with porcelain elements should therefore be protected from falls and knocks.

STORING JEWELRY

Jewelry is best stored:

• in a dry place;
• separately, one piece apart from another;
• in a jewelry box or a soft pouch.

This reduces the risk of scratches and tarnishing.

WARRANTY

The statutory warranty applies in accordance with the procedure established by law. Damage caused by improper use or external impact is not considered a quality defect of the product if it is established that it resulted from these causes.

Such damage includes:

• damage caused by mechanical impact or falls;
• damage caused by improper use;
• damage caused by exposure to aggressive chemicals.

Natural tarnishing of silver is not in itself considered a quality defect.

RETURNS OF GOODS OF PROPER QUALITY

For jewelry of proper quality purchased at a physical point of sale, the exception set out in point 17.12 of the Retail Trade Rules approved by Resolution No. 697 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania of 11 June 2001 applies: such items may be exchanged or returned only with the seller's consent.

Jewelry purchased in the online shop is subject to distance selling rules. The buyer generally has the right to withdraw from the sales contract within 14 days of receiving the item without giving a reason, except in cases established by law.

RETURNS OF PERSONALIZED JEWELRY

Jewelry personalized at the buyer's request by engraving or stamping initials, names, dates or other chosen marks cannot be returned or exchanged under the 14-day right of withdrawal.

This exception applies under Article 6.228¹⁰(2)(3) of the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania.

All quality and conformity requirements established by law apply to personalized pieces. The buyer's rights in the event of receiving a defective item remain in force.

Necklace length is measured from one end of the clasp to the other, including the clasp itself. How a necklace sits on the body depends on the circumference of the neck, so the same length can look different on different people.

How to choose the right length

1. Wrap a non-stretch string around your neck and let it fall to where you would like the necklace to rest.
2. Mark the point where the ends of the string meet, straighten the string and measure it with a ruler.
3. If you are choosing between two lengths, consider whether you want to wear the necklace closer to the neck or lower. An extension chain (+5 cm) gives you more options.
