ABOUT THE WORK
Ceramic serving dish "Miesto allegro" is a hand-shaped, upward-flaring dish with embossed edges. The matte, natural earth tone surface is decorated with small gold accents, so the composition resembles an evening city panorama. It is a functional object in which the leitmotif of the city is purified using form and rhythm.
History
The urban motif in this work is materialized through rhythm, fragments of light and the relationship between the restrained surface and flashes of gold. Due to this relationship, the static form acquires dynamics and begins to resemble the evening panorama of the city. “City Allegro” speaks of the city not as a set of architectural objects, but as a state: dense, pulsating, constantly changing. What is important here is not detailed recognition, but the impression arising from the stories trapped in the buildings, their continuation and accumulated layers of experiences. The urban leitmotif in this work is concentrated in a single form, in which earthly material meets the fragmentary dynamics of light.
Combination ideas
„"Miesto allegro" resonates in the restrained stylistics of the table, which leaves room for its relief and the light of golden accents. It is close to natural surfaces, muted earth colors, darker tones and transparent glass elements. It can be combined with dishes of laconic shapes to maintain a clear visual center, or it can be left alone - as an independent accent of the table.
