Memories lie in scents
That's why Christmas for me is not primarily about material gifts. Because this time smells of feelings that you want to share. The most unexpected notes are hidden in the scents, from tears of joy to oppressive longing.
When we enter them, we feel the warmth that envelops us, hidden in the touch of our loved ones, in the light of their attentiveness. We may not be able to write or call each of them today, but no one will take away our memories of them.
The scent of Christmas is like a touch of memories, a light mist that falls on our skin and hair and gently penetrates our hearts. Like a snowflake that has landed on the palm of your hand and instantly melted, leaving behind only magical whiteness.
Christmas for me is like a spell that traps time, people, their faces, silhouettes, and in the silhouettes, smells.
A duet of togetherness: a porcelain house and a signature fragrance
With this intention, a very beautiful joint work was born. A porcelain miniature in which a scent is safely trapped, reviving memories and allowing us to linger a little longer in that all-pervading closeness.
The miniature shape may not surprise you – yes, it's a HOUSE.
A small house, which fits in the palm of your hand, molded from porcelain threads, is exactly the kind of thing that, even hidden in the greenery of a pine branch, will be a faithful guardian of your memories. But that's not all.
Porcelain was not chosen by chance. This material, if not covered with a glass coating, is also called glaze. Its pores absorb the smell and retain it for at least several weeks, like an image stuck in memory.
And to fully realize this idea, I needed reinforcement. And I found it. SIVILĖ is the spell that helped me turn this idea into reality.
About the fragrant history of porcelain from the beginning
I embarked on a therapy that I call – thinking with my hands. When a visual idea is born in my head, even if I visualize it with a pencil on a white sheet of paper, my hands do not always agree with it. And I do not silence this dialogue, but I go on a journey and see where it leads. As in this case, this little porcelain house became what my hands saw, not my mind.
I have to admit, I liked the result better than the one I had drawn on paper and even created a prototype of.
Because, home is a place where I see joy not in finished projects, but inner peace in the breathing process. Porcelain is a material that symbolizes longevity, traditions, and the unstoppable flow of time. Moss embodies fragility and transience, which forces us to turn to essential things – values.
And finally – smells. Smell is as intangible a matter as memory. You feel it. It envelops you, warms you, and sometimes makes you stop and remember who you are.
A signature fragrance and remembering who you are
This is how the final visual of this collection was born: a small porcelain miniature and a signature perfume that tells a story thanks to its perfume notes.
Therefore, it is no coincidence that this duet consists not of the scent of home and a miniature porcelain creation capable of preserving it, but of a unique and exclusively created by Sivilė for this project, a signature perfume for both women and men – HISTORIA (Greek: historia – a story about old events < histor – a witness).
