Only a work that has travelled such a path can rightly be called the artist's own. And at that point the phrase “unique piece” becomes not merely unnecessary but empty. The reason is very simple: uniqueness and unrepeatability are inseparable from a particular time, a particular movement of the hand and the maker's inner state at that precise moment. This is why an artist's works do not, in their essence, imitate meaning; they embody it.

Is that where craft ends and art begins? Yes. Because I can no longer copy even a work I made myself; I keep looking for a more compelling way to reflect an inner dialogue.

Studio is my safe space, where ideas are transformed in a labyrinth of trials, questions and answers. The process is slow, at times exhausting, but it is never without meaning. Mistakes are an inevitable part of creative work, and every mistake, together with the encounter with the unexpected that it opens and the new understanding that follows, is what I call a form of self-teaching.
Creative work in the studio is inseparable from the effort to understand the person for whose sake and for whom I make. Because an object that has been given words is able to enter into dialogue – both with its owner and with the space around it.
And it is precisely here that the laws of physics cross over into the space of metaphysics.
